What is Haywood Haven?

Haywood Haven is a Christ-centered collaborative education project. We partner with families to provide educational and extracurricular opportunities for children while deepening their knowledge of and love for God. We offer our classes in blocks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays so you can choose exactly the support you need.

What are the fees associated with Haywood Haven?

Haywood Haven offers core and extracurricular classes. Parents can choose to enroll their children for a single block or several. Discounts are offered for full day and siblings. We also offer financial aid. Families pay a $150 registration fee each year. Some classes have a materials fee to cover the cost of project, arts, and crafts supplies.

What is the first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year?

Our first day is September 5th.

What is the security on your campus?

Haywood Haven is a completely secure campus. All access doors are locked during the school day. Every adult that interacts with our students has had a background check. We also have other security measures in place.

What are the qualifications of your teachers?

All our teachers have expertise in the areas they teach and experience managing children in group dynamics. They have a minimum of a high school diploma. Many have specialized degrees in their subject area or a teaching certification.

How many months a year do families pay tuition?

Families only pay tuition for the months they we have classes. That is for September through May. Families can choose to enroll students in summer camps if they wish.

Who can attend Haywood Haven?

Every family attending Haywood Haven is registered with the Department of Education in NC as a homeschool. Our community is Christ-centered and anchored in providing educational and spiritual guidance to students. Each family must complete a membership application and family interview. We are a like-minded community of shared Christian values.

Is this a drop-off program or do parents stay on campus?

Haywood Haven is a drop-off program. There are lots of volunteer opportunities for parents once a family become a member.
